    Cheltenham

I was going to have a daft EW bet on Shearer in the 4.50 today. However it is trained by a S Bruce who's tactics are to stay a fence behind & hope the others fall !!

    It came in last.

But never mind everyone was very, very pleased with its run. The horse’ll dust itself down, roll up its sleeves in training and be ready to go again next race.

yep, it was up against very good opposition, even the ones ranked lower.

It ran really well for the first few minutes and created a good chance but unfortunately it didnt happen, these things happen in horse racing. Sometimes in this game, its not all about winning, its the other things that we do that go unnoticed, the spirits remain high in the stables and it was a good effort for the yard.

The jockey is pleased with the way they stayed on for the full match and even though they didnt win, there were some positives to take away from today. It didnt get shot and its not got a broken leg, so we move on to the next race against dobbin and hove, a three legged amputee sitting in the bottom three, its a good horse, we need to show it respect and make life difficult for it. Tactically we will stay back at all costs and try to improve on finishing better than last out of two

Unfortunately there's not enough room on here for all of Bruces' excuses. It would take page after page after page ad infinitum.
