    Glen Murray

Heard a rumour today that Glen Murray, who is friendly with Dobie from there Crystal Palace and Brighton days, and from the Cumbria area, is considering a possible player coach role at queens next season as he sees it as a way of getting his badges etc to continue a career in football after he stops playing. We will soon have an over 40s team playing at palmy next year if that’s the case

I heard it was former Scotland midfielder James McArthur.

heard the glen murray talk today ,the guy will still probably be good at our level for a season or so but are we becoming a journey men retirement club here at queens these days ,id like to see queens signing players between 20 and 26 on between 2 to 4 year contracts instead of older journeymen ,tho id be happy if this guy wants to do his coaching badges while with us and then stays with us for a few years coaching ,this could benefit us longer term .

Retirement club journeymen couldn't be further from the truth come on who do we have oh the legend Stephen Dobbie best player in Championship past 3/4 seasons and Wullie Gibson who is currently one of our best players this season and fittest in the squad and is doubling up while being reserve team manager.. Any more experienced players the likes of Glen Murray would be welcome at Queens for me, If he is good enough for Nottingham Forest this season he is good enough for Queens next season!!

Got to agree. It wasn’t that long ago he was getting talked about getting into the England side. I think it would be a great signing and will maybe make the likes of shields put pen to paper when he sees the likes of Murray signing on.

Yes hope signings like Glen Murray (don't know how good the source of the rumour is) will encourage more of this seasons better players to stay on for another season. The days of 2-4 year contracts at this level are a thing if the past..

Glenn Murray would certainly be a bold move by Queens who will be 38 in September.

If true it would be a fantastic strike option for us to have and in terms of bringing through our own youth players he would be great person to learn from. Also added bonus for potential loan signings playing with players like him. Would prefer someone more long term but you can't have everything.

Modern footballers are still in great shape now until their late 30s.
