As a native Garthdee-er, his options for biding in his ain locale in a luxury hotel are limited. Neither the burned-down Copper Beech and the demolished brutalist Caledon offered accommodation, and the less than-salubrious Dee Motel (locus of some outrageous 21st birthday parties when I was of the age to be invited) is now a shopping centre.

Maybe he’s holed-up in Norwood Hall, upmarket I’m told? The venue for my eldest godson’s wedding reception in 2006, where The Billy Shears Band ripped the place up, although the highlight of the evening was finding out from reception that the early Scottish Cup round tie had ended Cove Rangers 0 Keith 5 (Cammy Keith scored all 5). It would have been the perfect traditional NE wedding had there been The Big Fecht At The End, but as a renowned anti-socialite and misanthrope, I ****ed off early. Any Green Final delivery loon would have bankrolled his week’s activities three-fold that night.

On topic, I still think we’ll sell Ferguson and use a bit of the proceeds to fund a signing or two. Otherwise, the squad looks a trifle lightweight and imbalanced.
