I loved Reg Varney from On The Buses as such good comedy

How can you make On The Buses without Reg Varney? or even Arthur (Michael Robbins) , olives husband, but they did. Amazingly The producers thought On The Buses were bigger than their top 2 stars and went ahead anyway and made the final 13 episode 7th series without them which was fair to say turned out to be a monumental disaster ensuring On the Buses bowed out in a whimper in 1973.

Paul Whitehouse of Harry Enfield & Chums fame for me, definitely the brains behind the material. I also love DS Jim Hastings in Line of Duty, he gets superb one-liners in that show.

As you say Woodsland, we have been lucky to have had so many brilliant comedians during our lifetime. I struggle to find any today who actually make me laugh. It must be a generation thing I suppose although both of my sons, one in his late twenties and the other early thirties, find 'Fools and Horses' hilarious. I think that there are some who span the generations.
