Don't play players or bring them on if they aren't good enough would be a start. Flo Giles Hirst are in that category.

gru, sorry but Giles does have something unlike the other two. Thing is, he's not used to his full potential.

Robins didn't think so wasn't playing him towards end of his loan at Coventry before January

Therein lies the problem. Results at this time of the season are unpredictable.
Teams have their own agendas such as those who may unable to get automatic but are nailed on for the play offs, such as Brentford & Swansea may keep their powder dry. That’s not to say this happened in their games against Birmingham but, it could be a factor. Effectively Birmingham got 4 pts that no one expected them to get (maybe apart from them) It is not intentional but, other than Norwich & Watford, other teams only have to drop off 5-10% and anyone can potentially turn them over.

There is not that much between the teams apart from Norwich & Watford, and even they may slow down a little once promotion is certain. That wouldn’t be the option they would knowingly take but it is a matter of what they actually have or think they have to play for. That is “got to win” rather than “would be nice to win” If any team goes into a game, let’s say, already on the beach then they will lose, eg Cardiff at SW.

Wycombe were a difficult opponent because they know they are as good as down but they have a point to prove, and have probably figured out that the league ain’t all that.

The problem is that we haven’t had any gimmes. Everyone we seem to have played has had something on it. Cardiff, Birmingham & Wednesday all have had a new Manager.

Huddersfield probably need one more game to be safe and will undoubtedly aim to get that on Saturday, so they will not ease off. QPR have nothing to play for so we should go for it with them.
If Cov beat us it’s probably all over. If Birmingham beat us it will probably be the same while currently Middlesbrough still have an outside chance of the play offs, although that might change.

Last week we literally threw a point away at Millwall. They wanted to win but they gave us an opportunity to score in the form of a pen but we didn’t take it.

Currently all the teams have it in them to pull off an unexpected result, whereas we seem to be too predictable.

I hope I’m wrong but, combined with Cov winning and Birmingham taking 4 pts from Swansea & Brentford, then our loss against Wycombe, this is potentially fatal to our chances. Additionally it provided Wednesday with a glimpse and my did they take it. We MUST win at Huddersfield and hope Cov, Brum and Wednesday slip up which would get us back to where we were pre Wycombe.

So we must focus ONLY on our next game at Huddersfield and then view it again before QPR. To worry about later games would be pointless if we lose at Huddersfield.

A draw is no good. We must win. The games are running out. There are now too many teams in the mix. A point a game means relegation. 2 points per game averaged over the last 10 has to be the target but sequentially we need to beat Huddersfield or we will not make enough ground up. We are playing catch up. Draws might have been ok had we beaten Wycombe but the landscape has changed, to the point that we will now have to achieve promotion form which means we must get 12 points from the next 6 games, but the first two must be wins as opposed to must not lose.

If we stay up this season it will eclipse any of our past achievements but we simply must set up on Saturday to maul them and if we do we can see which way the other results have fallen, and then concentrate on QPR. We must not hold back. If we go in with mentality that a point is ok we will fail. We cannot rest players because defeat would mean odds on relegation.

We need to get back to January levels with the same formation and play with a swagger. If we go in all edgy and nervous we will get nowhere, as shown v Wycombe.

We know we are good enough. It is now all about desire but......WE MUST NOT HOLD BACK WITH A VIEW TO THE NEXT GAME. Huddersfield is the most important game now. It is effectively knock out football. If we start with a couple of draws or losses it is all over so holding players back would be futile.

Staying up this season would be an incredible achievement but the odds are heavily stacked against us. We have to go for it & even that might not be enough.

Just before sliced bread, maybe new inventions were described as the “best thing since the electric light bulb.” After all, it certainly changed the world when it was invented in 1880. And before that, people could have said, “This is the best thing since the telegraph!” This communication device was pretty popular after its invention in the 1830s.

Of course, history is full of such world-changing inventions. Maybe the telegraph was the “best thing since the steam engine,” which was invented in 1712. Or maybe it was the “best thing since the printing press" of 1450. We could go on and on—all the way back to the invention of the wheel around 3500 BCE.

Isn't it time sliced bread was usurped then? What could take it's place. The best thing since the moon landings, video tapes, frozen chips, CDs, Chicken Tikka Masala, DVDs, the Internet, MySpace, Instagram, TicTok ?
