O/T:- The other Notts [Cricket]

As you say, Elite, Notts have qualified for the 'play offs', scoring the most points out of the three divisions. This you would assume would give them some sort of advantage in the next stages, but incredibly we only carry 5 points forward. which is only 0.5 of a point more than Yorkshire who take the least points forward. Warwickshire who finished second in our group, however take 21 points forward, work that one out. As we only play four games in the 'next round', that seems a huge advantage and totally crazy. Maybe Neil Ferguson, SAGE or the WHO came up with those rules.

The problem is the two losses Notts had were against Warwickshire therefore unless Durham or Es*** had got 2nd place,to quote a saying on here ....NOTTS ARE DOOMED....

A fairer way of doing it if necessary, as Dave Bracegirdle suggested, Give the group winners 10pts and runners up 5pts.

Lost - back to a normal Notts collapse

Even though it was a nothing game, that was a pretty poor effort from Notts. We looked set for 200+ for most of the innings, but a lower order collapse meant we set them a modest 173. I suppose we did well to take it to the last over, but losing to the bottom team isn't good.

A steady start for Notts Seconds. Mind you, it’s one thing losing your top players to internationals but, when your run of the mill county players are unavailable too, I wonder what the point is really.
