Dave Bracegirdle was saying that Patterson- White was rubbing his hands when he saw the wicket before the game started, as it was so dry. Looking at the bowling figures for Dawson and Patterson-White, they only bowled a total of 18.4 overs between them in the whole match! And that was the basis for them batting first.

Would be nice of Broad to contribute at some point in the match

I'm just amazed that he hasn't got one of his convenient injuries.

He's bowled some rammel this morning but that was a beauty to remove Bancroft, would have cleared most batsman up that one.

Notts should wrap this up now but...bowling tails out has never been a strong point for Notts

Comfortable win, and on a pitch that favoured the ball more than bat it looks like the opening stand on the first morning was the difference. A bit concerning that after that no Notts batsman made more then 34 though. Joe Clarke has continued his 'one good innings in four' form from last season and needs a big improvement to merit his place.

Just noticed we are top of the 'as it stands' table, but Surrey and Warwickshire look well placed to overtake us.

I am not sure how you can knock Stuart Broad, always shows commitment for Notts. The conditions during this match were not conducive to his style of bowling. Nice to get a win on the board early doors.
