Canklow WMC been closed a long while.
On a Saturday night when a 'turn' came on and they were rubbish the audience used to slow handclap them and the Commitee had to pay them off and get rid....happy days..

Remember Marti Caine coming to Swinton Victoria Club, one Monday night, at the same
time she was doing Roxy's, in Sheffield.
Her husband who was her manager, said to concert secretary, that she was only doing
2 spots, because she was on at Roxy's later, concert secretary told him, 3 spots or
there's the door.
Marti Caine did 3 spots that night, at the Victoria Club.
Victoria Club had turns on, Saturday, Sunday & Monday nights, best turn on a Monday,
now the club is privately owned.
