Yes, we will miss Lowery’s urgency, something you could never accuse Ainley of having! Hopefully he can use his other attributes to completing a 2-0 win.

2-1 for me. Two examples of problem inherent with automatically looking for the backpass, so far. Also, did anybody notice just as Oxford built their attack that Jaskelainen saved, that the ball travelled out of play for a throw-in?

We needed them all on at the same time! All very decent for half an hour (apart from the dodgiest of dodgy back passes) then collapsed like a pack of cards. A much poorer performance even than the Burton Shambles, where at least you could point to individual mistakes. But nobody seemed up for the fight - no energy, no ideas, no bottle, no chance of the play offs. The only good thing is that the watching scouts won’t have been impressed by ANY player in red! MotM? Tom Lowery looked good!

Spineless is one word that springs to mind. Too many gave up much too early. Surely, if we can give away a 3 goal lead, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that we can recover from a similar situation against us. There has to be a character assessment as we can be 3 up but wilt under the slightest pressure, but also wilt when behind ourselves.
Mandron kept going, as did Pickering. Murphy did, but seemed to make decision based errors throughout the game. He also is beginning to give away too many free kicks. er that's it!!
Is it looking dire already for the end of the season? We had such a good 18 months, it's a shame if this season were to now fizzle out.
It needs to finish on a high so that all the interest/enthusiasm that was generated by background changes ready for this season is also available for next if/when the fans come back.
