    Any news on Roberts yet?

Surprised no comment from Notts regards Roberts injury or at least I had not heard anything

I imagine he will be checked / scanned tomorrow.

On top of everything else, I feel the lad will now have quite a few mind issues. It would be foolish to cross our collective fingers in the hope that he will return to give thrust to our playoff push. It would be best if the focus was on being fit for the new season, whenever that is.

I agree with you Sidders. Consider this season over for Roberts and get him right for next season: whatever that may bring.

There's got to be something wrong with any team having to rely on one man.

If he gets back this year its a bonus, but lets concentrate on the boys who're fit now and let him get on with his recuperation with out the added pressure.

He's crocked. No point rushing him back. Will just make his recovery longer.

It's a sign of the weakness of the team's system of play when individual players stand out too much and we seem to depend entirely on them. When you think back to the Warnock and Allardyce eras, good players did get injured but others were able to 'plug' into the system without affecting the overall performances too greatly. The system has to be more important than any individual, but in order to achieve that it needs to be settled and consistent, which we never really achieved under Neal Ardley.

Most teams rely on one or two regardless of who that team is. Look at Barcelona or Real Madrid or PSG.

Even premier sides have their problems, Van Dyke, Zaha and St Maximin make all the difference to their respective teams when they are missing.

Ardley mostly signed "... might be good" players, few of quality in spite of an almost free hand.
