    Doubt it, two totally different types of midfielders. We are overrun with guys who play similar to Gauld, whereas we only have McTominay who can play in the Jack role and he seems to be better for us as part of the back three.

    I'd be delighted but very surprised if Gauld gets a call. He's not been involved, and I've got nil evidence to back this up but I doubt he's Clarke's kind of player.

    That’s Kenny McLean out now as well. Surely Clarke can do worse than giving Ryan Gauld his long overdue opportunity?

    I would take Gauld but the problem might be lack of friendly games before the first tie in order to see him bed into the team. Better than likes of Fleck etc. I don't think Clarke will pick him though. And tbf McLean is more a holding midfielder than creative. Gauld would definitely give you options though.

    Turnbull should be in the squad. Gauld and Gilmour might have to fight it out for one last place
