Thread: Hypothetical question from a friend about Mark Robins.

  1. #1

Hypothetical question from a friend about Mark Robins.

Given our current situation (points won , games to play etc) , with the current squad of players......would Mark Robins, if he was manager, save us from the drop?

    Yes from me.

As would Warne, apparently. You could see it in his eye.

No I don't think it would make a jot of difference
The two managers are very similar and Robins would have to operate under the same restrictions as Warne

What might make our club more attractive to any roving manager is the relative financial ability of the club

Agree with Grist. If he were plonked in right this second he would have the same players with the same levels of mental and physical fatigue, the same skills and lack thereof. The situation is unprecendented and no manager is going to change the fixture pileup. Arguably our biggest hurdle.

Interested to hear why you think he would though...

Robins he's put a better side together than we have. From start of the season getting his own players in yes he'd have kept us up.

We know that Warne is still lacking in the tactical situation, he needed help, whether he took
    advice, we don't know.
Has to Robins, being at the Millers, no one can say, if he would have done anything different,
he was at Rotherham once, walked out, & went to Barnsley, a few fans talk about him doing
    this.
We are not down, still plenty to fight for.
Birmingham have done well, since Bowyer took over, has said sometimes a new manager brings
more out of players, & start winning, but flipping the coin, changing managers has not
    worked at Sheffield Wednesday.

oh ye of little faith, Warne will still keep us up but I think we have to appreciate, with his experience, Robins has a touch more nouse than Warne.
