Manchester United v Burnley Match Preview

What a double header this Sunday’s Premier League games have thrown up! In the early kick off Fulham travel across London to play Arsenal and then Burnley visit Old Trafford. When Burnley played Fulham on 17 February the Clarets held an 8 point lead over the Cottagers. Currently the gap is 7 points with Fulham having played one more game. Burnley will be very keen to ensure that they at least match Fulham’s result this weekend.

Manchester United eased past Granada on Thursday evening to set up an Europa League Semi Final against Roma. They are still striving to keep the pressure on arch rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table and will be pushing strongly for a home win over the Clarets. Martial is out injured and both Rashford and Bailly are doubtful. Maguire Shaw and McTominay could all return after missing the win over Granada. For Burnley Pope may not be risked. McNeil is a doubt and Barnes is unlikely to figure.

The match referee is Jonathan Moss who was in charge in our recent 2-1 away win at Everton, with Darren England on VAR.

This Sunday Burnley Women of the National League North managed by Matt Bee host high flying WSL team Manchester United in the Women’s FA Cup Fourth Round. Does Sean Dyche or Matt Bee face the toughest task this weekend against their Manchester United opponents?

Manchester United have decided they have the “wrong” seats and will be changing the colours to black before the Burnley game. Let’s just be bold and go and haul down their colours! COYC.

We really do need to either match or better Fulham's result outwood. Great piece as usual by the way!

In the thread "Burnley women" there's a link to an article on the Cup game (if you can cope with the Guardian). The seat colour change is supposed to help them pick out their own players. Perhaps if we play in black they won't see us coming.

United on a run of 12 PL matches without a loss...drawn 5 of them - could make that Six tomorrow, but they wont want 13 without a loss, that'd be unlucky.

Never can tell with Burnley, it's not that long ago that we were the team that always turned up, not anymore, a drubbing is on the cards ceratainly, but you just never know. I'm sure Dyche must be disenchanted with the ownership situation at Turf Moor, and if he allows that disenchantment to filter through to the players then we're in serious trouble.

I can’t believe this but it looks like we’re going 5 in middle and one up top.

didn't see the game, was out....but from what i've read, seems we made a good show of it - though from the highlights, was disappointed with the united goals, unlucky with the deflection but we made the others too easy for them...let Rashford run uninterupted, and Greenwood unmarked....and who was it that played Cavani onside ?
And leaving Vydra and Rod on the bench until a the last couple of mins.....with S.D saying he didn't want to overload the mid, Bollox !
