You wait Dominic will be the darling of the Labour Party and be extensively quoted by all the papers who wanted him sacked for lying about his trip. Suddenly he is a truth speaker.

Politicians seem to me to have lost their way. They don't seem able to get their employees to work out what is best for the country. They don't understand that managing public opinion is a very short term strategy and it always ends in tears. The minister Mercer who resigned and blasted the behaviour of all politicians deserves a medal for standing by his principles. Hope he continues to stand up for our armed forces.
