Who’s celebrating ‘wildly’? No one complained about celebrating too wildly at Elland Road two years ago...but ultimately the result is the same...we’re in the Championship again next season.
Fortune favoured us for the first time in weeks yesterday...it makes no difference in terms of our numerous shortcomings...but we can be happier than fans in South Yorkshire or Wycombe this morning and, without disrespecting them, that’s surely worth a smile.
When all is said and done, we still start the season higher than Forest
To those who have been online over the past few weeks saying the players and staff don't care, I would say the following:
Look at the emotion shown by Waggy, Curt and Rooney in their post match interviews. They care, deeply.
How individuals react to pressure can vary considerably and it seems the team struggled in that respect over the last few months! Personally, I would have liked to have seen Wayne showing more emotion on match day but maybe the lack of a fan atmosphere has tended to dampen things down meaning the pressure has not been Released? Sports men and women, whether footballers, javelin throwers or sprinters can rise to a higher level of performance on the backs of the energy that a crowd generates. It's noticeable that many clubs home records are below par, take Leicester who are in the top four in the PL but who have lost 8 home matches this season whilst Manure's away record is much better than at Old Trafford!
Hopefully, next season we can get back to a bit of normality, without the energy of the crowd sport is denuded much of its appeal and the 'performers' don't achieve their full capability.
Be careful with remarks like that.
Nixon writes in The Sun on Sunday (09.05.21, pg. 63) that Derby County face a ‘massive points penalty’ next season, with an ‘independent disciplinary appeal’ ready to swing in favour of the EFL who want to charge the club for ‘overspending across three seasons’.
All this FFP stuff does make me laugh though
We're about to have 3 more clubs coming down from the premiership that have a budget that dwarves about 18 clubs in this division, they can spend what they like but the rest can't
*rolls eyes*
