It's possible Chris, I was living there mid to late 70s, and I'd forgotten about the Joiners, probably spent more time in there than the BQ. Friday night at the Cricket Club was another good night and for a bit of peace and quiet we used to go to a pub up Tod Rd on the right, I have this idea it was called the Flowers, but I can't see it on Google maps now, so I could be wrong about that.

You're spot on sink, it was the Flowers though sadly gone now. I went there too and a better pub just a bit lower down Tod road, the Crown. Funnily enough my mum and dad had the joiners in the 80's so I lived there awhile.

Bloody hell chris and sinkov, you certainly lived the high life in those days. Well, Bacup was up a hill anyway, wasn't it.
I was slumming it in Germany in those days but I survived.

Hamburg wasn't a patch on Bacup, the Reeperbahn was modelled on St. James Street

I was much further south in those days, however, we sometimes used to do a 220 miles return trip to Amsterdam for a night out which was always interesting.
