    Our Premier league season

Seeing as a return to the Premier league is not exactly a million miles away right now lol, I thought I'd put this video on here of our 1997-98 season there.

I'ts done by Spanish tv admittedly and they do give some annoying clips of the bad memories of the mid 80s.
But we do eventually get to hear comments from John Dennis, Keith Lodge, Danny Wilson, Neil Redfearn, Nicky Eaden, & Ashley Ward. Ohh and theres an annoying poet as well, who thinks it's clever to make sentences rhyme!!.

Yes that cheating little piece of garbage Michael Owen did his absolute best that day to con the ref, and Willard himself seemed happy to go along with it. Did you even see him following/escorting Daz Sheridan off the field after his red card, I didn't know refs could do that.

When we equalised with 9 men I thought we'd a point in the bag until that bstrd Macmanaman scored in time added on .

The most poisonous and hostile atmosphere I've ever experienced at Oakwell that afternoon , it was absolutely toxic .

Absolutely killed us that afternoon and you couldn't help thinking other factors were going on and we weren't wanted in the PL .

I've always tried to have an open mind but when you look back at that afternoon you can't but think something wasn't right .

I saw all 38 games by hook or crook , to be honest at the time I was on my own with a mortgage and got myself in a bit of debt to fund it .

I'm saying that but I probably didn't help myself either , travelling by train away and having a good day on the pop .

We took some hammering's but the win at Anfield was a special day and another good night at Villa Park when we were bloody excellent .

The cup run put some icing on the cake for me , 9k travelling reds at Old Trafford and knocking them out in the replay was the standout although Spurs away and home weren't too shabby either in round 4 '

Great times really thinking back .

Remember the bloke ranting outside the ground afterwards, saying summat like..
" this is all about Newcastle, Everton, & Tottenham not going down, and everybody here knows it! ".
I've always thought the same, and yes although it sounds like sour grapes and being a sore loser etc, those highlights just always bring back the same angry feelings every time.

As for if Danny had stayed in '98, and Redders as well remember as he made an ill advised move to Charlton for one more year in the Prem, well who knows what might have happened.
