Shanks was out injured earlier in the season for quite a few weeks, he was away warming his backside waiting to get game time for Scotland, has had poor service from the lowest scoring team in the SFPL, who in many games didn't realise there was a final third on the pitch.

There are many mitigating circumstances for Shanks' lack of goals. His job has been more one of tying down two defenders rather than scoring goals. For his own sake he's better away from Tannadice. That said, I want him to stay. We could do worse than look at Raith Rovers' reincarnated Louis Vaughn.

Is this a reality? I'm not saying it isn't but Shanks has scored at every level he has played at, including international football. To be on your game you need many factors working for you.

I'm not going to say we would have beaten Hibs, but the second goal completely changed the whole complexity of the game in their favour. The Hibs guy was well offside, and the goal should have been disallowed. However, this 2nd goal gave Hibs a comfort zone, and gave us a mountain to climb. Doesn't matter how poor we were, if you're still only one goal behind, then there's always a chance.
