Our 352 is a high pressing formation in itself. It was notable that as Olaofe started to tire down their left they had minimal threat. The system does require us to be very athletic and the positive outlook is that we continued to press when down to 10 men, not once did we retreat back into our shell's like we normally do when up against it which is why the system has failed previously.

IB deserves some credit, regardless of what people might think of him his career has been developed around coaching football, he's done his apprenticeship and he will be better read on the subject than many of the dinosaurs being banded about.

The big question is do we have the fitness levels in the squad to make it happen for us in a play off promotion push. It won't be the coach's tactics that fail us it will be down to how invested the players are, hopefully the performance against Sutton provides a glimmer of hope that they are now fully committed and this could still be a season to celebrate.

Good to read that positive post TSANHO, only one win but not the first impressive performance under IB.

Obviously the result and performance against Sutton will mean very little if we revert to our bad ways against Barnet. If we do back it up then that will help with your question marks over the competence of the new manager and give us all signs at the tail end of this season that he has indeed got something about him to build with.

    Bandwagon still chugging along slowly.

It’s interesting, in terms of performance alone I thought we were miles better at Torquay then we were against Sutton. The former we basically controlled for 95% of the match, Tuesday was an entertaining, end to end game that could’ve gone either way.

But, in the last five minutes, our minds were completely scrambled at Torquay against ten men. On Tuesday, we looked composed and in control despite having ten men. Which is why the injury times panned out so differently.

Increasingly convinced that the issue with this team has very little to do with coaching or talent. It’s maybe 60% psychological, 30% physicality, 10% everything else.

We were impressive in both games against clearly good opposition.
