Ye I agree Terry. Nobody wants to be a party pooper but that is just wrong and if that was hundreds of Funsters last Friday cheering away the FUN for what was going to be their biggest game of the season at Palmerstin then we'd be all over it on this forum condemning it.
Have thousands on beachs and parks all over Britian every time the sun comes out with seemingly no reaction from the covid.Had thousands outside Ipox who were escorted into glasgow center to smash up memorial benchs and party with no reaction from covid had stjohnston supporters celibrating cup win plastic whistle supporters celibrating winning league even Arbroath fans out side gayfield celibrating staying up celtic fans in middle of lock down gathering to protest and abuse their team (greatest supporters in the world) but a few hundred utd fans gather to see of their team and they are condemed. Was the same with the team photo even though they had followed the goverment rules were condemed on here and by the snp until it was explained celtic had did the very same then all was ok.
Two wrongs don't make a right though, do they?
they Forgot to remind all 6 of their fans to dawn their caniggia wigs, or maybe that’s just taken as a gimme
What are the two wrongs utd getting their photo taken while sticking to goverment rules and a few hundred fans cheering them off?Or a couple of the other things I mentioned like thousands gathering at beachs and parks every time the sun comes out or slavering rancid fans sharing around half bottles of buckie and smashing up glasgow city center while the police watch on?
It wasnt ok in Glasgow, but it didnt lead to any significant increase in cases. The police response to the zombie gatherings though was a hell of a lot better than what happened doon sooth when they waded in to a bunch of women who were there because of a killer cop!
I dont get the apparent rage against our send off when we are well on the road to recovery. If you are paying any attention to what is happening in Moray, its gathering indoors that is the driver up there, and as Dundee is now around 10 cases/100k, i dont see too much risk in some of our supporters in open air, giving the team a send off like they did. I didnt know it was happening, but that doesnt matter as i would not have joined in, but those that did do not deserve the criticism that some are giving them.
Six months ago I wouldn't have approved of this. Now? I'm not really fussed tbh. As Brian says there's been far worse at far more serious a time of the pandemic. Okay, by the letter of the law it shouldn't have happened but listen, lock people up for as long as we have been and keep us locked up when there are only 8 positive cases out of a population of 150,000 in Dundee this week and its gonna happen. Fairly certain one of those 8 wouldn't have been at Tannadice yesterday.
