First female to solo write a UK number song. No inside knowledge but I always imagine she will live up to her family name.

Group of us were having a discussion last night about best girl singer of the time and my comment that Dusty Springfield could belt out a tune was unanimously agreed.

My point is slightly being missed though.

Dusty without any doubt had the best voice of any U.K. singer of all time.

Kate Bush was unique, that’s my point, from writing all her own classics to being the first female singer I can recall who added dance to her performance to make a complete show.

Lady Gaga ( greatest performer I’ve ever seen live ) is the modern embodiment of this art form.

Kate Bush wrote Wuthering Heights and The Man With The Child In His Eyes when she was 13-14 years of age.

A child genius, we’ve produced nothing like her before or since.

Agree. Both her style, stage presence and that fact she wrote her own songs all make her unique.

Not for me. Couple of songs aside I always thought Kate Bush was wildly overrated.

I don't care she wrote that sh ite on her own, she screeched her way through a gap in the market and worse still I never found her more than quirkily attractive.

Bet she had a Bush that would have had even Des' searching for a machete. As for those eyebrows. Wandering caterpillars. No, not for me.

And before anyone mentions it's an age thing I had a poster of Blondie on my wall when I was aged about nine or ten.

Now that was a woman to lust over and yes I got a stonker even at that age.
