She also wrote all her own songs and could dance brilliantly.

I loved Karen Carpenter but in terms of a pure and unique talent Kate is streets ahead.

The years don’t spare anyone but are just harder on some than others. Whilst not saying that she wasn’t talented, I wasn’t too keen on her songs.

I agree one of our best female talents. Still think the Yanks pulled out some super amazing talented singers in a different league who are worldwide famous even now - Karen Carpenter - Whitney - Aretha to name but three.

Sa the Carpenters at the Odeon in Brum back in the day. Stood in the pouring rain on a Sunday morning for the tickets. Found out in retrospect that this was the time of her illness but it never showed through then. Tragic loss in the end
