It's been an odd season because if last summer you offered United - and others, ourselves included - the guarantee that you could emerge 12 months later with no health tragedies or financial disasters and your top-flight place safe, most would have said fine, getting through the pandemic and starting again is ok.

But obviously given how it's turned out virtually everyone (Rangers and St Johnstone apart, and Hibs too obviously if they win the cup) will look back and say what a chance missed. And of course it's those who came closest to something special but fell just short that will have the biggest 'what if' feeling.
