    Bradford City Fire

It is 36 years ago today that the tragic fire at Bradford City occurred. Tragically 56 lives went to a football match and never returned home. I must admit that stadiums have improved immensely since that sad day although I was very wary for a few years after the fire.

Terrible tragedy, even now at the end of the game at the hawthorns (a modern stadium) I think about how long it takes to get from my seat to safety.

Don Goodman was a young player at Bradford when that happened and his girlfriend died in the fire if I remember right.

It was one of the reasons he left and joined us due to the bad memories.
