Agree with you Lol. I had visions of Barlaser spraying balls out to wingers/ wing backs to set us up for attacks but that didn't materialise much last season. Instead he just ended up chasing the ball round with 10 other players. If he stays next season we have really got to utilise his skill like we did the last time he was in league 1 with us. Also get him back to his point accuracy with corners and free kicks. I don't doubt that players need to play with energy but we also have to utilise their skills.Some players might be good at running round all day like Lyndsey but some need to let the ball do the work for them like Barlaser.

Amen to that Roly. Warne needs to get the balance right between energy/endeavour and quality/skill. In my opinion its currently out of sync.

This was why we were easily sussed by the opposition in the end Grumps. I would imagine team talks by the opposition this last season went summat like this:

They are big and strong and energetic. we need to match them on this.
They will be good at set pieces cos of this so we have to match them at that.
BUT they have a soft under belly and will eventually burn out so they can be picked off if we are patient enough.
They play in the same way and don't have a plan B or at least not an effective one because they are drilled just to be strong and energetic even their more skilful players

Let's be clear, OUR coaches have improved Smith's abilities considerably and deserve credit for that. He arrived here as an unknown Bury reserve and there was a lot of negative comment on this board at the time.
He has worked tirelessly for us at both ends of the pitch and deserves to move on to better things if the opportunity comes.
If he does go to Boro, the man who may well take him to the next level is Ronnie Jepson who specialises in coaching strikers but uncle Colin will probably also use Smith's strengths in a different way and make him a really threatening striker at Championship level.
With this in mind we should be able to command a fee of £2 million minimum with appropriate add ons or maybe a player exchange.
Whatever happens I wish him every success because, although he may have missed a few decent chances for us, no-one can ever say he didn't give everything when wearing a Millers shirt.

Same here. He has been a good servant to us. He's hardly missed a game and, in spite of his lack of goals ,if he had spent as much time on the pitch as Robertson or Mattock this season we would have been down at Xmas.

Good luck to him if he goes to Boro he deserves another chance at Championship level.

The reason Peterboro can get big sums is because they pay good money for them. Nearly a 1M for Toney and JCH......, does anyone think we'll pay 1M for any of Scott's potential gems, like Brentford did for Maupay????

Good point. If we paid 30K for MS and get 1.5M for him (doubtful) then that's equivalent to Posh paying 1M for JCH and getting 50M for him (very doubtful )
