Of course it is becoming a tad boring to hear Chris Beech constantly referring to the comparison of our budget with the budgets of other clubs. We do not like being told that the club is financially weak in comparison to other clubs and we wish to ignore this plain stark fact.

Thus we state that a strong budget does not necessarily produce a strong team and a weak budget does not necessarily produce a weak team. We then mention that in League Two Notts County had a big budget and Accrington Stanley had a small budget.

But this is a classic case of a very poor argument. It is taking extreme cases and implying that they are the norm. In the overwhelming majority of cases there is a direct relationship between finance and success.

1921 is severely inhibited by the fact that none of the best companies in Cumbria will provide any sponsorship / advertising revenue or any other kind of support whilst the Holdings board consists of the present incumbents. This was the case before covid and will remain so after covid.

There are people who, in the post-covid era, will be of sufficient financial and ethical standing to own the club. Such people are not naive. But even then they can do nothing until this Holdings board collapses. It would be somewhat bad mannered to indicate exactly what would cause that.

The club will only get new ownership when both the debts to Purepay and Pioneer have been annulled. That will only occur after the current board's ownership has ceased.
