Those are not my heroes ,whatever your photo shows. We are far away from those I would say they are given rifles, as in a case of self defence, can you imagine those people on a battlefield? They probably do not stray far from their homes ,only to go out and pray at the synagogue.

    The backlash is coming:

"South Africa is gravely concerned with the plight of civilians caught in the present Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip due to the indiscriminate use of force and forcible removal of inhabitants."

There is no '' forcible removal of inhabitants."

South Africa alleges 'genocide' in Gaza; Israel Foreign Ministry: 'Baseless'
South Africa asked the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Friday for an urgent order declaring that Israel was in breach of its obligations under the 1948 Genocide Convention in its crackdown against the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza. The ICJ, sometimes known as the World Court, is the United Nations venue for resolving disputes between states. Israel's foreign ministry said in a reaction the suit was "baseless." (Reuters)

By the way why does Israel attack Gaza? Why is Israel bombing Gaza right now?
Israel has said the bombing campaign and ground offensive are necessary to dismantle Hamas and prevent a repeat of its Oct. 7 attack, in which militants broke through Israel's formidable defences and killed some 1,200 people - mostly civilians - and abducted around 240

South Africa has repeatedly stated that it condemns all violence and attacks against all civilians, including Israelis. Moreover, South Africa has continuously called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the resumption of talks that will end the violence arising from the continued belligerent occupation of Palestine.

It would perhaps be better if they asked a banana!

Look who is talking, South Africa???

"South Africa is gravely concerned with the plight of civilians caught in the present Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip due to the indiscriminate use of force and forcible removal of inhabitants."

''South Africa failed to take meaningful measures to improve protection of social and economic rights, which has been undermined by widespread unemployment, inequality, poverty, the government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and corruption. The authorities struggled to ensure law enforcement responded effectively to some of the worst riots and looting in the country since the end of apartheid. ''

South Africa should just shut up!!

War. What is it good for? The usual, more civilian casualties or collateral damage, a sick euphemism, there are no winners, it should all end but none of the big players has the balls to stop it.

When events in Gaza conspire to make the South African government to complain, things must be really bloody awful in Gaza.
