Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford are interested in signing Senegal striker Mbaye Diagne. The 29-year-old is currently at West Brom on loan from Galatasaray. (Football Insider)
I’ll drive the useless lump of lard myself
He’s not shown the form he had at Galatasaray......he might be good leading the line in the Chump. We can’t afford him and he won’t want to drop to the Chump anyway. No point in debating him.....he ain’t staying with us!
It’s clear that some people haven’t got a clue when it comes to evaluating a player.
Far better than Rondon and a much better strike rate but not good enough for us apparently.
Neither player can hit a cows arse with a banjo, for all of HRK limitations at least he shows willing, something that was sorely missing from Diange’s disgraceful performance v Arsenal when he showed he just couldn’t be bothered
Diange may have a decent scoring record elsewhere, but a Bob Taylor/ Kevin Phillips he most certainly isn’t, he was brought in to score the goals we needed and has failed miserably

To be honest I thought he was half decent and added a threat upfront we didn’t have. Given he came in mid-season to a side which was disintegrating before our eyes .... I thought he did ok ..... and credit to him for even coming and putting up a fight.
Seems I haven't got a clue then, because in my view Rondon is the twice the player of Diagne.
In every attribute he's a better player, he holds the ball up better, is quicker, harries defenders more, better in the air and is a better finisher from what I've seen.
People used to give Rondon stick but he was great for us I thought. He regularly scored 8-9 goals per season, many of them were game changing or winning goals too, in a low scoring team which didn't create a lot.
Rondon scored 9, 8 and 7 league goals for us in three seasons, 24 goals in 108 matches, pathetic return for any clubs “main man”.
3 of those goals came in one game against Swansea so he actually only scored 21 in 107 other matches.
His anticipation was hopeless, he hardly ever won a contested header in open play and I thought his hold up play was very poor.
He had all the attributes to be a real beast but there was a heart the size of a pea inside that huge frame.
Give me Andy Hunt over him a 100 times out of a 100.
Its actually not a bad return, 24 goals in 108 matches. In largely a defensive Pulis team.
Diagne has scored 3 in 14 for us. So their strike rate is similar albeit Diagne has played in far fewer games.
But I would argue that Diagne has missed some really clear cut chances and is playing in a more attacking side than the one Rondon played in. I would also say that Rondon is a much better team player. I thought his hold up play and general nuisance factor for a defender was pretty good, and far better than Diagne's.
I think there are better strikers than Diagne available, so I wouldn't be disappointed if he was to go elsewhere next season.
We have to be realistic here, we won’t be able to compete to get a truly finished article, for me Diagne has a long way to go on that score, however he has enough quality and with more work from the coaches will only get better, he would be a beast in the Championship and would do for me.
