I would like to hear the logic behind it before passing comment but on the surface it is completely strange.

Its not Wembley but its not a bad stadium now.
It's far too red for my liking.

And if we did manage to get there, I would probably be allocated one of those bloody awful 'behind the corner flag' seats.

I wouldn't imagine Wembley changing their seats for us

It could be that they aren't ripping their pitch up, with the play off final on the 20th of June it doesn't give them a lot of time for next season.
I also imagine a lot of clubs said "erm, nah"

If it's being played down there why not the Millennium Stadium as that is close by and was used when Wembley was being redeveloped?

As others have said or even a central location like Villa Park or King Power.
I think the city ground would be a great choice.

Probably not. Wembley also has far too much red and far too many corner seats, but it is a bit more iconic than Ashton Gate.

With local lockdowns becoming a possibility in the near future, what happens if this effects one of the teams involved and fans of that club cannot travel? Would it be fair if one team has support in a supposed neutral venue in such an important game?

No but then again its not fair QF/SF play off games have home fans eithers.

IMO the season should be played out BCD.
