    The future and Sam.

Let's forget about all the drama and controversy concerning yesterday's game and look to the future. In my humble opinion it will be a disaster if Sam Allardyce doesn't continue in the job. Nobody can deny what a different side we are now compared to the side that he took over. I realise that we won't have the players who have made the difference but credit Sam with the ability to know what is required and to spot the players to fill these positions. As to the style of football, I can't see a problem. He's not a dinosaur as has been seen by our performances against top clubs. Let's face it, you can't go 'gung Ho' against these sides but we didn't 'park the bus' either. If he stays, I am convinced that we will be there or thereabouts next season.

You would think we have the best chance of promotion next season with him at the club. Especially as he has already been in and around the players and has evaluated their strengths and weaknesses.

If he's not around next season. I don't really want Wilder or anyone else that has been suggested. I'd like us to go for someone young and up and coming.

Left field thought from me would be Enzo Maresca. He's been managing Man City U23's. Knows some good young players they have on their books who we could get on loan, has been mentored by Pep. He's young, hungry and knows the club already. Of course it is a risk, but any appointment comes with risk.

I’ve long preferred to stick with Fat Sam.

Apart from the obvious benefits of his organisational skills and eye for a player there’s the opportunity for some long term stability at our place.

I think that if he could get us promoted next season he might then be around for another 5+ years.

A lot depends on what money he’s left with after the axe is taken to the squad by Lai in the coming three months.

I agree 123, if Sam is appointed that would give us the continuity that we need. If however we lose him, then a young eager manager would be my preferred choice. A good shout with Maresca as he might be able to entice Morgan Rogers back who is currently loaned out at Lincoln.

We need big Sam next season he's already sorted the team out , he will need support from the board to bring in fresh faces , if we get that we will be back in the Premier the following season ,

Pretty much agree with that, however, if Sam is not at the helm next season it will probably be due to the Chinese not allocating adequate funds for a realistic promotion campaign, in which case, Enzo Maresca or anyone else won’t have much of a chance.

Sam can both get us up and keep us there.
