I reckon Robson has slowly but steadily been improving.

He's only 23 so we can reasonably expect there is more to come for the lad with - hopefully - his best years ahead of him.

He's a decent player who generally works very hard for the team. Frequently has to do two jobs. I would like see him operating with a proper winger in front so we we could see some Dickson/Conway type overlapping wing play. I think that would suit him.

He's quite experienced for his age. I think that experience will start to show in the next couple of seasons and we'll see more improvement from him.

    Good points.
Plus he normally gets very little protection from the players ahead of him, we give the ball to the opposition far too often and invite them to run at our fullbacks. It's not an easy gig being a fullback in our side.

His delivery is possibly the worst at the club. If he's going to replicate the Dixon/Conway era he's going to have to go some.

What I mean is, if we run with for example, a 26 man first team squad and a kid comes through the ranks, we wouldn't then run with a 25 man squad. We'd fill a position elsewhere that was required. We're always going to be paying the same amount of players. Not necessarily saving a wage because we've developed our own.
You can argue to toss about the quality of Robson but he's made 167 appearances for us so, yeah, we didn't need to sign someone from outside the club.

I like Jamie, i want him to continue improving, but if someone better comes through the system, or becomes available then for the sake of consistent top 6 finishes or better, we need someone else. For me, the only players we have that can take us to top 6 are Siegrist, Edwards, Fuchs and Shankland with help from squad players an improving Robson then Deniz, Reynolds, Sporle, Butcher and Clark. For me, if we need to rely on an unimproved Robson, then Pawlett, Harkes and Connolly, then its gonna be 7th to 9th for the foreseeable!
