No business until July? The season starts in August so if he brings anyone in, how’s he going to see or get them to supersonic fitness levels he demands from every player? What a statement to put out... beggars belief!

He’s probably hoping doesn’t have to bring anywhere near eight, waiting on outcome of if any leave and also sounds like he wants some going out on loan again ffs I hope that means youngsters

Yes ****s me off waiting for scraps but his main men might be targets but nothing will happen til later if at all

    Waiting game

We need a keeper but will he be looking at a number one, back up or just a dressing room guy? 😂

It's probably a negotiating tactic Brin.
He's suggested he's already speaking to players now but he's saying to their agents that unless they agree to RUFC,s terms then the club will wait. Also better players might become available because this is what happened in the S Evans era and we ended up with huge squads

Have you lot who insist on making sarcastic comments about the manager ever thought that the reason there may be delays in signing players is that the chairman sets a strict budget that has to be balanced. I'm pretty sure he will want to see departures before he sanctions arrivals which makes it pretty difficult for the manager to move quickly in a lot of cases.

He's not going to get much slack off our 'fans' this season is he ?
Just hope we don't lose a game before February, he might have a chance then.

Most players don't come out of contract till end of June, doesn't mean Scotty & PW are not looking & negotiating with agents. The club have to be selective in who we bring in, it's not as if we're MASSIVE like that lot at S6. Needs to get recruitment right & try not to waste too much budget.

The targets (options A, B, C, etc) will already be identified and there will be ongoing discussions with players and their agents (incoming and outgoing) but like GFC says most contracts aren't up until the end of June.

Plus, why sign someone now when its our 'summer break' and have to pay their wages for an extra month or two?

Flour, fair points but he's better not saying anything and just getting on with the job. We all know there's a possibility of a big clear out and overall of staff so do it the Mark Robins way and remain silent and announce the player(s) once they've signed.

We have this issue every close season that causes unrest amongst the fans with statements mentioning late signings, why?
