Difficult act to follow, Roy's done a good job there!

Absolutely...another club, like Brighton, Burnley and Southampton, who have been successfully punching above their weight for some time. It can be done. Hope Roy Hodgson enjoys a decent retirement...he deserves it.

Seriously? Where is Rooney going to go? Hasn't got the required qualifications, inexperienced, no track record, other than keeping Derby in the Championship by a fluke there surely no team in League 1 and above that would employ him as a manager at the moment.

Unfortunately we are stuck with him which doesn't fill me with hope, but hey if club affairs get sorted who knows?

It doesn't really tell us much other than confirming we are engaging with new potential buyers. But better than nothing, hopefully they keep the comms open.

Hopefully the next potential buyers will be genuine and it’ll be third time lucky.
On the other hand...until the outcome of the EFL case is known how can a realistic price be placed on the club?
IF we are to get something in the region of a 12 point penalty and a transfer embargo for next season then the height of expectation will be Championship survival.
Anyone thinking of buying the club will surely be wanting to know such details and adjust the purchase price accordingly.

We could get a pts deduction , won't be 12 pts, a fine or a transfer embargo, though given the EFL only won on one of their two issues on amortisation of players I doubt it will be a significant penalty.

One of three wasnt it Swale?

Add to that that it took them from us telling them about our new amortisation method in 2015 to 2019 for them to decide there was something awry with it and they have little or no validity to hammer us as they are complicit in any wrongdoing...... and even then, if Boro hadn't threatened court action they may well have either never come to that conclusion or, if they had, would have requested to change back to the old way from the following season.

Nevertheless, the point stands...until this is resolved, and for that matter any outstanding financial returns etc...how is it possible for any prospective buyer to value the club accurately?

.... or Rooney to know the size of his transfer kitty, how much he can offer in wages.

He won't be able to agree a price with a club, offer a player a wage and then, even if he did find a few bob hidden under row Q, seat 224, showed a player Moor Farm, Pride Park and then........... the player says "what's the aim, gaffer, promotion?" and the answer is "irm, no idea irm we might be starting the season on -12 points......".

The future might still be black and white but it's certainly not bright at the moment.
