Thread: Jim Y McLean Statue

    Jim Y McLean Statue

Now that League Cup fixtures have been announced, COVID-19 restrictions have eased off and the McLean family have had time to grieve, what plans are now in place to finally hold an unveiling ceremony of the Jim McLean Statue?

Appreciate that because of the location of the monument it isn’t feasible to have a large audience attend but would welcome live transmission via a free DUTV broadcast.

Fans have waited very patiently to celebrate this historic event especially as the project was commissioned and funded by ordinary supporters via Dundee United Community Trust.

Big Tony has been on the blower and the statue is now being replaced with a statue of Tony's nephew, who won the league for united on his playstation. The owner has sent a statement out to thank the fans for their money and he can't wait to fly over to Scotchland to thank them personally for their money. The fans are divided but can at least agree that its a better option than the statue being of Stephen Thompson.
