    Tier 4 playoff final

Total gash, more bluster than skill and a poor referee. Just what we’re used to in fact. Newport slightly less gash that Morecambe, though neither side seem t know where the goal is. Dreadful.

And if you want to see poor refereeing, look at that penalty decision.

Pleased for Morecambe, though it wasn’t deserved. Never a penalty, one of our closer fixtures lost and we’re still stuck with Newports laughable “pitch”.

"Deserved" is such an interesting word in football. Newport had 120 minutes to score but weren't good enough.

Morecambe also finished five points clear of Newport after 46 games.

According to Beech this promotion should not have been possible.

Cheer up Griff, as you know and as we definitely know this season, we can't go quoting Play off stats can we without sounding a little bit sore losery.
And yes, I was delighted to see Swanny get outplayed by Brentford. It serves them right, how dare they beat us lol.

Acido, what are you thoughts on Daryl Dike?

Also, will your owner keep throwing money in to give you a chance of promotion again next term?

“Deserved” was used because the referee determined the outcome of the game. Neither team would have scored if he hadn’t awarded a dubious penalty.

I'd suggest, if you wish to be promoted from tier four, you need to be good enough to score in 120 minutes against Morecambe.

There's always a risk calls go against you, that's football, but it's always in your own power to influence the outcome of the match despite this.

If you have 24 shots in a game but aren't good enough to score, you can't really argue you didn't "deserve" to lose.

    Hey up Piggy lad.
Daryl Dike really made a name for himself as a striker who defenders hated playing against, and don't we wall want a big striker in our team ehh who plays like that.
He had the confidence about him and he did score goals for us as well, but now the idiotic money is being suggested... up to or maybe even more than 15 million for him, that is utterly ludicrous.
As for our owners, none of us really know what their game is because they own 4 clubs now in different european nations, and yet between them they probably don't know as much about footy as what Zippy & George & Bungle do (allegedly of course lol).

I think £15 million would be an absolute steal for Dike in today's market. His resale value, given his age, if he continues his goals per game ratio would be double that, wouldn't it?

Anyway, you're being a bit harsh on your owners I feel. They were successful at Nice, before selling the club on, and with what they've already achieved at Barnsley they must be doing something right?
