    Ivan Toney

Like Adam Armstrong, was linked with a big move but now in the top flight with Brentford. The move might still happen but his club will be better placed to fend it off. So, assuming he has a full season with his current club, how does everyone think he’ll get on? I honestly can’t call it, I don’t watch enough football when it isn’t us so aside from the odd few minutes here and there, I’ve never seen him play in the Championship. I think he was undoubtedly mismanaged by our terrible youth system, he’s dropped a couple of leagues, did well, earned a move to the second tier, done incredibly well and now could now score for fun in the top flight or could struggle and be another Dwight Gayle type. The likes of Bamford & Watkins both had decent returns this season so recent history is on his side but many have failed to make the step up over the years. In summary, I just don’t know if he’ll succeed or not.

You can guarantee he'll score against us both home and away!

I thought at the time that he hadn't had much of a chance when we let him go but that was the extent of my feelings on it.

He might be superb in the PL or he might not but I suspect he might do ok.

I think he'll do better than Armstrong, not sure he'll be this amazing talent that some have said.

I didn't want to lose him when we did but I understand his reasoning for wanting to leave and to his credit, it has absolutely paid off.

Agreed that he'll score against us home and away though.

Ivan Toney is going to score goals for Brentford because they are set up to feed him with crosses. If they were to buy Armstrong they would have a great attack as he love to drift around a strong target man.

Imagine that - a team buying to and playing to its strengths - if only…

Brentford's playing style is not far off Leeds'.

I imagine they will have a good first season in the Premier League, and then like the rest of us struggle for a long while.

Hi Peeps, Armstrong got 29 goals in 43 apps, you have to have a little doss at him imo, we'd take him if we could.
    Take care now
    John.
