    Euro 21 PL Competition

This is essentially a version of the regular PL competition applied to the European Championships.

The "official" home for this competition is the Leeds United Mad website, although I expect some entries from elsewhere too.

The format of the competition is simple in its, errrr, simplicity..

The fixtures will be listed according to the days on which they are scheduled.

    Group Stages

Your job is to predict the finishing scoreline for each fixture at the end of the regulation ninety minutes PRIOR to the games kicking off.

If you predict the correct outcome (e.g. you predict a 2-1 home win and the home team wins 4-1), you score three points.

If you predict the exact scoreline (i.e. if you had predicted a 4-1 home win in the game above) you pick up an additional three points.

There are potentially six points available from each group stage fixture.

No points are scored in the event of an incorrect outcome.

    Knock-out Stages

As above, but you should also predict the team you think will progress to the next stage of the competition (or lift the trophy, if it is the final game).

A correct progressing prediction will score three points independent of any regulation ninety minutes scoreline prediction.

If you have predicted a draw at the end of the regulation ninety minutes, you will need to add which team you expect to progress in order to stand a chance of picking up these extra three points.

If you have predicted anything other than a draw at the end of the regulation ninety minutes, the team you have predicted to win will also be assumed to be the team you expect to progress unless you explicitly say otherwise.

There are potentially nine points available from each knock-out fixture.

There will be a trophy up for grabs.

    Easy, eh?

    Okay, here's some fine print:-

This is a FREE competition and ALL are eligible to enter.

Postponed or abandoned fixtures will not count for scoring purposes.

New posters are allowed to join at any time from zero points.

The first set of fixtures are in a thread entitled "Euro 21 PL - Fixture for Friday June 11th".
