    Andy Carroll

Not on the Premier League 'retained' list so looks like that's it.

Quite the ignominious end for him and sad, in a way. Poor decision to bring him back in the first place and you get the impression he'd happily twat Bruce given half a chance.

In related news, Gayle isn't on that list but, surely, you'd think that was because we wanted to get some money from him as opposed to us actually keeping him?

    Surely....

Hopefully, he'll give Bruce a goodbye stroke on the chin but looking at Carroll's overall two sessions here at least over the years we've had a few goals from him and the fee from Liverpool must have covered all of his costs over the seasons.

It was clear that it's the old fashions style of Bruceball management. He kept Andy around because he's a 'good lad' to have in the dressing room. In other words, when he puts Andy on for 2 mins triggering Andy's appearance bonus, Andy slips the manager a couple of grand as a sweetener.

Last summer we had a shirt, salary and place in the team available. Instead of bringing a valuable asset the club and manager took the lazy route in renewing Carroll's deal.

Pretty normal murky practices in the world of football.

Gayle is probably gonna be retained or he's already extended his deal so the club can get some sort of transfer fee for the player who is absolutely useless to the club.

Would think you're probs right about Carroll Rag.

Which is almost a shame for him but he only ever really came back for the money as it was clear he wasn't getting a deal elsewhere in prem.

He'll go down to Chimpo and probably do solidly there.

He didn’t come back for the money. He could’ve got pay as you play almost anywhere. He accepted that to come back to Newcastle.

I’ll remember him as a glittering prospect who was heavily hampered by injury.

Its soul destroying that we are wondering about the future of the like of these 2. Brought what little ability they had to the club and offered basically nothing.

King BTW isn't a bad bottom feeding shout. Doesn't score many though, but more than JL - would fit with our other Bournemouth contingent. Don't see many other frees cept maybe John Lundstrum.

BTW, who can remember when we wanted Eric Pieters? Well hes available.
