Very small country and yes poor teams can even make the best teams look poor. I had hoped Celtic and Rangers would have been allowed into the premier league but the English were shaking in their boots and would not let them in.
Greek football isn't that much chop but greek sides do well in euro like Celtic and who can forget 2004.

I am half Scottish (on my Mum's side) My family in Dundee all support Dundee United. Many Scots have 2 teams...their hometown team and either Rangers or Celtic.

Me and Mr Wortley lived in Ayr for 27 years and many of our friends who supported Ayr United also supported Rangers (if they were Protestant) or Celtic (if they were Catholic). We saw first hand some of the trouble that both sets of supporters could cause because of the hatred between the two. They had to halt a train from Glasgow Central to Stranraer at Prestwick Airport station after both sets of supporters decided to re-inact the religious battles of the past. Unfortunately on the train were other people including small children who ended up terrified.

This type of behaviour wasn't at all uncommon and I dread to think what would have happened had they (Rangers and Celtic) been allowed to leave the Scottish Leagues and join the English ones. It also wasn't the first time they thought about leaving the Scottish football set up....they, at one time were on about joining with other European clubs to form a league, The Atlantic League...see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlant...gue_(football). I think this is probably where the ESL got its idea from.

I, for one was so glad that they were knocked back as England had enough of their own nutters to deal with and we didn't need theirs.
