So how about going back to the Romans, the Ancient Greeks, the Mongols, the Incas, the Princes, and Royal families in India pre the British Raj, the native African leaders of stronger tribes who raided and captured the weaker tribes to sell them on to the slave traders and countless other deities throughout thousands of years of so-called civilization.

As long as humans have been around, They have enslaved eachother. I think as long as humans stay around. They will continue to enslave eachother.

Did Hitler actually congratulate him in person? I'm not sure that is correct.

The story goes Hitler did not congratulate any gold medalist personally, however::

I would imagine he perhaps was hoping that African Americans would "rise up" in the USA causing internal strife and a distraction from the war effort - who knows, they had all sorts of crazy ideas.

Owens dud say that Roosevelt later snubbed him when he got home.

Jesse Owens said that Hitler showed him more respect than he got back in the US. He was invited to the White House to meet the president but was forced to go in through the back entrance while the white athletes were allowed in the front door.
