Bed-wetters out in force early this year.

    It's June 10th.

Contracts normally run until the end of June. It's fairly normal practice, if you have a deal or two lined up, to keep things close to your chest so you don't get gazumped.

Should we be worried no signings have been announced yet? I'm not. I don't see anybody else in tier four making any signings I envy. Port Vale & Barrow seem to be going a bit crazy signing bang average players.

And let's deal with the Barrow thing. I don't believe any of our players deserved the reward of a vastly improved contract after the ****show last season. Zanzala was hopeless for the majority of the time. I wouldn't have minded if Farman stayed but I'm utterly ambivalent to him departing. Is he worth a big wage? No. I don't really care what dosh Barrow are splashing around, if they want to spunk their wage budget away on average tier four players, good for them.

I was moderately satisfied with Holdsworth & Beech's activity last summer, so I'm fairly confident our signings will be eyebrow raising.

Everyone knows that we could get better players in but will we actually do this?

I think that it was the fact that the players were offered contracts and went locally elsewhere that was the eyebrow raising part.

And because we were signing players that gave us 'value for money' then I don't believe that Barrow broke their bank for them, more likely that Barrow laughed when they found out how much he was on and came back for the keeper as well, you say that they are bang average players and that is probably mirrored by their wage.

I don't mind if it takes all summer to get the right players, you can only judge on what they bring in of course.

Shame that we don't have an ambitious chairman - Gary Madine is available and he would probably want to come here as well if we could afford him.

Why wouldn't we get better players in? Isn't that how we've been building the squad (the majority of whom are still together) over the past couple of years.

We don't know what either Farman or Zanzala were offered. For my money, neither deserved any sort of increase for their efforts last term. If Barrow offered them more, more fool them.

I'm not sure I'd want Madine back, he's always been a bit of a nut job and didn't respect the club on either occasion he played for us. Plus his resale value is zero.
