    No it isn't.
I never wear a poppy, I usually throw a few quid in the jar, and I have never, yet, booed onybody for wearing a poppy.

Sadly that's not a very broad church just now.

I think the bottom line is, racism is bad (m'kay?) and racism exists ( though some seem to be sceptical on that point, but heyho).

If I see someone mounting a protest against a bad thing, well I tend to agree with the concept of protesting bad things.
If I think a specific protest is misguided or ineffective, but the cause worthwhile, I'll maybe say something like "I believe that protest is ineffective and/or misguided".
I won't boo them for doing it, or get vexed, I'll let them get on with it.

Anyway, as Aldo says, things that wind up racists please me.

    I don't believe that's why they've changed their minds.
I think they decided to protest in a different way.
But due to racists booing England taking a knee, they've decided to show solidarity by joining in.

Mebbe they like winding up racists.
    I do.

    No
But try being a football player who doesn’t want to wear the strip with the compulsory poppy on it.

The only one I recall getting slaughtered is the boy McLean, the Irish winger, but there's different agendas in play there.

I really have no idea, how many have wanted to?

Nobody ever will know while this ridiculous pressure to confirm continues
