    IIRC there was a Bolton player who collapsed with heart problems at Arsenal in the PL era? He made it. David Longhurst wasn't so fortunate, died whilst playing for York City v Lincoln City in 1990. Think there was a Scottish league player too, so it's not unheard of but this must be a first for a major tournament.

    Just goes to show that you can take all the precautions possible and that players with head injuries must be withdrawn, but sport is always going to be a risk no matter what you do.
