Today is France v Germany, tomorrow Finland v Russia.
My mind goes to something other than football when I see those names together.

Yeah but thats the beauty of it, we want to see the likes of France and Germany and Portugal kick the crap out of each other... don't we ?.

Still daft it was played abroad between two teams from the same country during a global pandemic though.

Given reduced spectator numbers the game could have been held in most stadiums with a capacity of 25,000 +.
I thought the FA had said they could move the playoff out a day and it was fifa/uefa blocked it as some of the media firms would have to quarantine?

The difference being that the Germans won’t be “Goose Stepping” their way through Paris on this occasion.

It would be annoying to see France pay homage to WW2 by rolling over and folding like a pack of cards though.

As for the Russians, it good to see the way they’ve progressed as a country. since WW2.

To the best of my recollection switching the playoffs was discussed as a possibility when the final was due to be played in Turkey. I don't recall it being a firm offer.

UEFA would most likely have sought and found any excuse for their actions as Wembley was not their preferred choice, possibly because it'd already been allocated a number of Euro fixtures.

I don't know for sure re the last point but I do know there would have been no need to switch the playoffs as the Champions League Final could have been played at any decent sized stadium in the UK.

As for foreign media fk 'em, not my problem 😊 .

Looks like Wembley might get to host at 50% capacity, that would give the team a massive boost and provide a good home advantage, my lad is desperate to go to a game, if they do release another 20K I’ll do my best to grab a couple, anyone on here got any inside knowledge?

The thing is a farce; many of our freedoms are still being restricted yet thousands are being allowed into football matches, disgraceful. Oh, and of course Wimbledon will be allowed some capacity crowds, mustn’t let anything disrupt the ******* tennis, must we. Boris the buffoon, what a clown.
