Good. Maybe now they can crack on with reducing the five year backlog of operations that has been created.

No surprise there BT is there, we've always known why they put it back a month, to give them time to find the next 'variant of concern'. And on it goes.

"Meanwhile, the NHS is under “huge pressure” as healthcare staff battle against growing Covid-19 cases on top of the backlog of patients waiting for surgeries and other procedures."

A growing number of Covid-19 cases does not put any any pressure on the NHS at all, the vast majority of those 'cases' won't even know they've got it, and will not even be troubling their doctor, never mind the NHS.

What does put pressure on the NHS, it's obvious really, is Covid making people ill enough to require hospitalisation. The last 8 days GOV.UK figures for Covids being admitted to NHS hospitals

    185, 187, 188, 177, 202, 185, 178, 171,

No growing pressure there from Covid, but the media never let the truth stand in the way of a bit of good, old fashioned scaremongering.
