Of course it will end eventually and probably not with a bang but a whimper. And when it does- end that is -the blame game will begin.

Try telling that to the folks down the street Alfie. Sunday morning taxi arrived, suitcases loaded all smiles and waves.

Monday morning taxi arrives, suitcases all unloaded, tears and troubles.

They had flown to Malta from Manchester and got turned round and put on the return flight home because of some mumbo jumbo they had the wrong sort of vaccines.

Orange alert, green alert, red alert - your vaccines don't work.

The "end" really looks to be unlikely any time soon outwood...

You have a bad cough and the doctor prescribes some cough medicine to be taken three times a day, you take it for 3/4 weeks but the cough doesn't go away, it actually goes worse. Any sane, sensible person would come to the conclusion that the medicine doesn't work, wouldn't they ?

We still have social-distancing with plastic screen in shops and supermarkets, no one gets too close to you, we have hand-sanitisers at every door, we are all wearing face-masks in shops, supermarkets, buses, trains, taxis, cafes and restaurants, many people, bless 'em, wear face masks in the open air, riding bikes, or in their cars, and we've been living like this for quite some time now. The ending of restrictions was postponed in June so they still apply, and yet the number of UK cases is rising, 23,462 on July 3rd, 48,553 the latest figure.

As with the cough medicine, the obvious conclusion to be drawn is that face masks, social distancing, hand sanitisers etc, do not work, they do not stop the spread of this virus. But our politicians, scientists and a compliant media will not accept this obvious conclusion, they simply double down, restrictions not working, let's have more restrictions.

What would you say to your doctor, if after a month of cough medicine you told him your cough was getting worse, and he just shrugged his shoulders and told you just keep taking it ? Might you not say, 'Thanks Doc, but it doesn't work'.

    It did work didn't it?
Pandemics are all about critical mass - if the majority get it, everybody gets it in a short period of time. I think the handling of the pandemic has been chaotic at best and tinged with no small amount of political manoeuvring but at least the bumbling fools "followed the science" at the beginning and that at least avoided a tsunami of pressure on the NHS which just about held firm. Could have been far worse than it was.
Now that the national resistance to current mutations is building up it's perhaps a different story but lockdown, mask-wearing and social distancing served a useful function IMO.
Conversely if they hadn't taken any measures there would have been national panic and civil unrest.
Deaths from Covid are down but that's due to increased vaccination and that fact that many of the most vulnerable have already been culled.
I have no problem continuing to minimise the chances of catching and spreading it - I'd hate to feel responsible for killing someone else.

The overall UK case numbers are rising, that's mainly due to the rise in England, in Scotland they've been falling for almost three weeks now. With a few tweaks here and there the same restrictions apply in Scotand as here, but in one country cases are rising, in another cases are falling. Masks, social-distancing etc, the virus seems to be ignoring the restrictions and doing it's own thing. Just as it did in the first wave back in March last year, when deaths peaked on April 8th, long before the March 23rd Lockdown could have had any effect on the death rate, and again this winter when cases peaked on December 29th, a week before the lockdown began on January 5th.

Whatever it is that affects the behaviour of this virus, the evidence shows clearly it isn't lockdowns.

The wife is all out of sorts and needs to see a doctor because of consistent trouble with reflux acid.

"We are only doing medical emergencies is the response from our doctor's surgery".

I rang them back to complain and remind them our NHS employs 1 million people.

Mrs BT has an appointment to see the doctor on Monday.

    .

"they" don't want it to end....and I - dont give a flying fluck what "they" and their scummy little lapdogs think, say or do even.....such as those master manipulators of spin and propaganda - the Bully Bullshilt Corp....who, am informed, were at their inventive best a few nights ago - with a low-life named Hugh Pym (whoever he is) - reporting from the North east - out came the coconspirator dregs - Doc's, Nurses, the Mayor even...there's a new wave, spreading like wildfire - it's War , it's exhausting, distressing, they can't cope - the end is nigh blah blah blah, viewers across the country were trembling in their armchairs, taping up their windows and filling the sandbags - oh the fear of it !

yet look on the NHS website - and under North tees and Harlepool NHS Trust...that provides service to 400,000 - and it hasn't reported a Convid death for - 76 days.

....why folk listen to these a$$holes - I don't know.
