One things for sure, Spain are a shadow of their former selves. Might even go as far as to say England would give them problems.

Missed penalties make me feel more happy inside than goals do these days, they are our only recourse to a bunch of **** sat in a booth somewhere in Switzerland attempting to decide the outcome of the game. I wish every penalty given by VAR from now on was missed, every single one of them, justified or not, until they give up with it.

"football is in the greasy hands of a tiny self appointed clique of puffed up gargoyles who decide, match by match, what the rules of our game are." Danny Baker yesterday

In other news, FIFA are threatening to chuck Norway out of the 2026 World Cup if they persist with protesting for Human Rights in Qatar and possibly boycotting 2022, if they qualify. Will any other country stand with Norway?[/QUOTE]

That old "politics in sport" chestnut. Unless you apply some sort of objective measure of a each country's ethical record and then act accordingly it just seems pointless (and hypocritical).

Congrats to Wales who are now looking very good for a place in the QF's. They will play Russia, Denmark or Finland in the last 16 and they'd have to fancy their chances against any of those three in Amsterdam.

In the QF's, Holland should win their tie against a 3rd placed team to meet Wales in Baku. The Dutch would be favourites but are beatable these days. Not impossible that Wales could go all the way to the semi-finals again.

Seems like Wales have done what we (England) should have done on Friday and need to do on Tuesday. Credit to their manager, to ours? ........

Billy Gilmour out of Scotland match...

"Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss Scotland's Euro 2020 match with Croatia on Tuesday."The Scottish FA can confirm that a member of the Scotland national team playing squad, Billy Gilmour, has tested positive for Covid-19," the SFA says

"Having liaised with Public Health England since the positive test was recorded, Billy will now self-isolate for 10 days and therefore miss tomorrow's Uefa EURO 2020 Group D match against Croatia at Hampden."

Chelsea player Gilmour put in a man-of-the-match performance on his first appearance for Scotland - a 0-0 draw with England at Wembley on Friday"
