However after a few weeks I noticed the steering getting more and more vague with about 6 foot of play in it.
Anyway I eventually got underneath it to find the steering rack hanging off,it was literally yards from no steering at all.
    Went off it after that.
Was it pre owned by Bodie or Doyle?

Had some pretty bad ones in the UK all bought at auction including Ford Capri 2.0GL (must have ended up with about a gallon of water in each headlight), Mini S (a bit like a Flintstones car the floor was so rusty), Mini Metro (discovered when driving it home it had no brakes ) and a Vauxhall Carlton.

Worst overall must be a Saab 900 Turbo convertible I bought Mrs. CA when we moved to CA. Within 18 months of buying I'd spent more than the original purchase price, $15K on repairs including a new head gasket, fuel pump, suspension A-arms.....

    Bugatti Veyron.
8 mpg in the town and only about 14 mpg on the motorway, that’s about 8mpg lower than the Lamborghini and a rougher ride.

    Austin Allegro Estate (Brown)

Bought in a hurry due to circumstances at the time (and cash available)

Didn't dare press too hard on the brakes in case my foot went through the floor
    It leaked up

Mrs. CA had a lime green Allegro when I met her and I managed to impress her with my brand new British Racing Green Rover 214i (company car). 30 years on I wish I'd kept the Austin Metro
