If he does go my spirits would be lifted if we went for Wilder, but I can't see that happening!

I wouldn't have thought so , compensation seems to be relative to signing a contract for specified number of years .

I don't think the position of CEO has that kind of agreement , he's just an employee just like we are at our places of work .

Wilder will want full control over recruitment , that's why he fell out with the blunts owner who was looking to bring in a director of football .

I think everyone within the game knows how we operate here .

I like Wilder - but IMO it’s ridiculous to even consider him.
Reportedly on £4 million per year at Sheffield.
He doesn’t play the pressing game.
He’s a manager and not a HC - in other words he recruits his own players.
If Valerian leaves - Barnsley won’t be looking at dinosaur managers such as Wilder.
It’s more likely to be Blessin or someone like Blessin.

Wish things would hurry up... feels like were on death row just waiting for the chop/noose/chair.

The dinosaur you speak of took the blunts from league one to within touching distance of European football with a squad of players recruited from the lower leagues .

Wilder would be perfect here but the club's model is non negotiable .

    It does.
It’s starting to make me doubt whether we will ever again be an established Championship club that has a chance of gaining promotion.
If this is the pressure the club has to endure every time we get into the playoffs.

Assuming of course that Dane and Valerian leave.
I’ve been thinking about Brentford today.
How many times they were knocking on the door of promotion with the same manager.
Compare that to the last 3 Barnsley managers.
At some point the owners of Barnsley must put a line in the sand and put a stop to the revolving door.

If you believe in the philosophy of the club - which I do - then I’d be very surprised to hear that Wilder had even been given a seconds thought by the hierarchy at Barnsley.

Probably because they know Wilder's not that daft to apply .
