VAR and Refs in the Euros

Been impressed with the use of VAR and the standard of refereeing so far - clearly clamping down on diving and in some games recognising football is still a contact sport.

Let’s hope it carries through to next season in the prem

They seem to get their decisions out quicker, which helps.

f MY MEMORY but I think I saw one where a player who was actually legit had his foot taken out near the goal line might have been an England player as the defender clearly took his foot and nothing was given quick play one and the replays were showing it clearly. Clear Penalty.
Again I think was the England game I can't remember.

So far. Much better than the premier league.

You don’t get scum, scouse or london allegiances dictating to a Leeds result.

The improved VAR is possibly why Grealish was so C@Ap the other day, realises he can't get away with things, though he did do his shot deer impression shortly after coming on.

Yes, much better refereeing than what we have seen in Premier league. Still not that happy with the VAR decision that disallowed the Finnish goal against Russia. His feet and legs were clearly onside. Just leaning in at the "precise" moment ball was delivered ala Bamford versus Palace. Who says that was the correct split second? Didn't like it.

It's pretty obvious who FIFA wanted to win that game. The VAR dude was probably advised it would be good for his health to rule that offside.

Good thing the Chinese or North Koreans suck at football or they'd win the world cup. They'd just put the head of the WHO in charge of the event.
